v I Invitations: Sometimes parents will ask us to send party invitations to some of the children in the classroom. Unless an invitation is sent to every child, we will not honor that request. We do not want any child’s feelings to be hurt.
v J Journals: We now call our classroom journals “writer’s notebooks” as well as math journals. We write in them about four times a week. Children are taught different writing lessons that help guide them when writing and math lessons.

Apple slices, grapes, crackers, etc. are usually less messy. A water is available to drink in the room at all times. A water bottle is recommended.
v T Teaching: Teaching and learning can be done in very enjoyable ways. We are always teaching your children throughout the day. Sometimes, that teaching may be in the form of games, manipulative, songs, dancing, paper and pencil tasks, technology, listening, drawing, painting…many ways to teach…many ways to learn. Often, children don’t even realize they are learning.
v T Technology: We have lots of new and exciting technology in our kindergarten classrooms. IPads, laptops, and interactive whiteboards are all part of our blended learning kindergarten classrooms.
v U Unique: Every child is unique, special and one of a kind.
v V Vacations: Schoolwork for children who miss class because of vacation will be given when the vacation is over. If your child misses Kindergarten, much of what is missed cannot be made up with paper and pencil. Kindergarten is very hands-on and verbal rather than written.
v V Velcro: Please try to buy velcro shoes for your child, whenever, possible!
v W Weather: Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. We will continue to have outdoor recesses during the autumn. When snow begins to fall, we usually stay indoors. This is because of the amount of time it takes to get kindergarten children dressed to go outside for recess!
