Dismissal InformationSafety of kindergarten students is of utmost importance. Every child's safety is always first on our list. With that being said, we at need your help. Kindergarten Dismissal will go smoothly if we work together. The following are guidelines that we would like all Kindergarten Parents to follow:)
1. Please read all information below for the safety of your child:)
2. If you are changing your child's dismissal procedure, always communicate directly with your child's classroom teacher. Do not expect your child to communicate the message. They are only 5 years old and often forget or give the wrong message! Please put the note in your child's daily folder or send an email. [email protected]. [email protected] [email protected]
3. The best way to communicate is via e-mail. If your child's teacher does not reply before 3:00pm on the day of dismissal change, please call school. You should ask the office to put your call through to your child's teacher. Do not do this at 3:40pm that is too late! If you know the night before, that you are changing your child's dismissal plans, please send an e-mail the night before. Please do not make it a habit of frequently changing dismissal times. Routine is important to all kindergarten students and helps to reduce possible anxiety.
4. Parents who are picking up their child from school need wait outside the front doors.. Please arrive no later than 3:45 to ensure a smooth pick-up. Do not grab your child out of the line or call your child to come to you. Please wait for your teacher to dismiss your child to you. Your child's teacher will look at you, confirm your presence, and dismiss your child directly to your hands.
5. Any person (parents, grandparents, older siblings, aunts, babysitters, etc.) picking up your child must be listed on the emergency card. NO EXCEPTIONS. We will ask for identification to confirm who is picking up your child. Do not be offended; we do this for the safety of your child.
6. Bus children will be escorted by a staff member to the gym to wait for buses at 3:40pm. During the first weeks of school, your child will be double and triple checked to make sure that they are on the right bus. Bus tags must remain on backpacks the entire year. If your child loses their tag, you can make them a new one:) Please put their name, address, emergency phone number, teacher's name and bus number on their tag.
7. After school child care students will be walked down to the childcare room after school by fifth grade service squad. Childcare staff will take attendance.
